Background Info The First Scarborough Medvents are a Scouts Canada organization, sponsored by Toronto EMS. This themed Scouting program has a primary focus on Emergency First Aid Training, and providing First Aid coverage for public, non-profit events. The Med-Vent program provides the youth with first aid & CPR training as well as orientation in EMS procedures, including communications, disaster/survival planning. This program was started by British Columbia EMS in 1986 and Toronto EMS in 1999. There are now Med-Vents in York Region, Ottawa, Essex, Windsor, Thunder Bay, and London. It is the fastest growing Venturer and Rover program in Canada. ***THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF VOLUNTEER HOURS EARNED WITH THE MEDVENTS MAY GO TOWARDS YOUR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA! How to get Involved If you or someone you know may be interested please give us a call or e-mail us. The Medvents will meet approximately once every two weeks. Youth can register at anytime of the year. As members of Scouts Canada, the Med-Vents will have many opportunities to participate in Scouting activities around the city and province.
